Space Invaders - A Game About Boundaries
An Easy To Learn Card Game
Developed by Toni Cavanagh Johnson, Ph.D.
Space Invaders – A Game About Boundaries can be played
with the whole family. The goal of the game is to form healthy, safe
and consistent boundaries in their home. The game is suitable for use
with intact families, families with stepchildren and families with
foster children. The questions are most suitable for parents and
children 4-14 years of age. Easy-to-read instructions are included.
This game can also be used with specialized populations, some of which
are:
Step or Foster Families Who Want Some
Assistance To Have Clearly Defined Boundaries In Their Home
Reunification after Unsubstantiated Allegations of Sexual Abuse
Reunification of an Adjudicated Adult or Adolescent Sex Offender Into
The Family
Families With Children With Sexual Behavior Problems
Any Family With Poor Emotional, Physical and Sexual Boundaries
A therapist is important when working with the specialized populations.
Instructions are included which explain the role of the therapist
and describe how to use the game with the specialized
populations. Three peer reviewed articles related to boundaries
are available to be downloaded from Dr. Johnson's web-site to assist in
understanding boundaries.
